Accessories: Loops & Threads Skinny Chenille — Duckling; Petite Purl — Rhubarb; Petite Purl — Winter White; Sweet Snuggles Lite — Peachy Pink.

Face: Petite Purl — Cappuccino; Skinny Chenille — Flamingo.

You can substitute other yarns. Follow the hook recommendation on your yarn label, but expect the finished size and texture to change.

Abbreviations

SC — Single crochet

INC — Increase: make 2 single crochet stitches in one stitch.

DEC — Decrease: crochet 2 stitches together.

This project also uses slip stitches and magic rings.

Snowman Nose

Hook: 6.0 mm

Assembly

Attach the Arms

  1. Start at the side of the neck and insert the needle through a stitch on the body.
  2. Insert the needle into a stitch along the hem stitches of the hand.
  3. Insert the needle into the stitch on the body, following along the side where the hand will sit.
  4. Repeat around until you reach the starting point near the neck, then tie off.
  5. To hide the remaining yarn, use your crochet hook from the back to catch the yarn tail, pull it through and trim.

Attach the Buttons + Nose

  1. Insert the needle into a stitch on the body where you want the piece to sit.
  2. Insert the needle through the loops along the edge of the button or nose.
  3. Continue around the edge, alternating between the piece and the body.
  4. Tie off and hide the loose yarn.

Add the Cheeks

  1. Insert the needle from below the eye to the end of the blush area.
  2. Tie off at one end.
  3. Use your crochet hook to pull the loose yarn inside the head.
  4. Adjust as needed.

Embroider the Mouth

  1. Choose three points for the smile, with the middle point lower than the other two.
  2. Starting at the middle point, insert the needle and come out at the left point.
  3. Insert the needle into the right point and come out through the middle point.
  4. Pass the needle under the smile line and pull the line downward by tying at the middle point.
  5. Hide the yarn and adjust the smile with a needle as needed.
