How to Make I-Cord
- Make a knot in the middle of a yarn strand about 4–5 times the length of the cord you want.
- Insert the hook into the loop of the knot.
- Keep one yarn strand in front and one in back. Loop the front yarn over the hook from front to back.
- Hold the bottom of the cord. Use the back yarn to yarn over and pull through the two stitches on the hook.
- Repeat to make additional I-cord stitches.

Mug Body — Matcha, Latte & Hot Chocolate
Color A: Matcha — Seal; Latte — Flamingo; Hot Chocolate — Rhubarb
Color B: Matcha — Forest Green; Latte — Tan; Hot Chocolate — Cappuccino
Hook: 3.5 mm
End.
Mug Rim
Using Color A, stitch directly into the front loops left from the color-change round of the body.
Mug Handle
Latte: Flamingo Hot Chocolate: Rhubarb Hook: 3.5 mm
End. The source pattern attaches the handle to the mug with hot glue.
Legs
Cappuccino — 3.5 mm hook.
Use the hook to bring the loose leg yarn through the mug where you want the leg positioned. Hook the yarn through the top of the leg, pull to tighten, tie off, trim, and hide the yarn in the body.
Matcha Arms
Cappuccino — 3.5 mm hook.
Hook the arm yarn through the body where you want the arm. Tie off, trim, and hide the yarn. You may also glue the whole arm down. One arm is glued flat to the body and the other is left free to hold the whisk.
Matcha Whisk
Tan + Winter White — 3.5 mm hook.
Optional: tie a strand of white yarn around the whisk handle. First glue the whisk to the side of the body, then glue the arms down and around the whisk.
Latte Art Heart
Winter White — 3.5 mm hook.
Pull the magic ring tight and end. Trim the loose yarn short enough to hide behind the heart and secure it to the back with a little hot glue. Apply hot glue to the top of the cup and attach the heart.
Hot Chocolate Whipped Cream
Winter White — 3.5 mm hook.
End. Trim the loose yarn short enough to hide behind the piece and secure it with a little hot glue. Apply glue to shape the cream into a clump, then glue it to the top of the mug.
How to Attach the Eyes
- Place the eyes where you want them.
- Remove an eye and squeeze some hot glue into the spot.
- Put the eye back in place, press, and secure.
